Focus: Male & female/unisex items

(While it is not mandatory for a store to make both a male/female item, it is however highly recommended.)

Packaging – Boxes will be provided for 3 categories (Female, Male & Unisex)

Hunt prize cost: $2L

Hunt Order: Based on order of application submission

Theme: “Casket Sharp” – usually refers to someone who is well dressed, but let’s take it a step further and have some fun. Take each word separately or use them together & let the inspiration guide you.

Calendar of Important Dates

- Each store participate has an opportunity to create an AD/promotion for his/her store. Promotion can be text accompanied by one (1) picture (1:1 ratio) or a texture (1:1 ratio) to be posted on associated BH social media sites. ADs can be store geared or hunt prize geared. – example of Store ADExample of Prize AD

- I use various advertising avenues; magazines, blogs, groups, social media, etc.. to promote for hunts but do not forget to promote your individual store, as I promote as a group/whole.

- An event will be created on Facebook as well as inworld. If you are on facebook, do invite friends.  BH Facebook

Theme: Consider what music had meant in your life and conceptualize it. (ie Favorite artist, song, maybe music brings hope to your life..show us…)

Item must be new & exclusive to the hunt during above dates. NO resells, NO BIAB

Starting location: To Be Determined

Store Order: Listing will be randomly picked in a drawing

Bloggers: Male – (LawrenceD Resident) & Female – (Daian Resident) *no relation hehe

Images Size: Maintain 1:1 ratio ie (500×500)

Hints: Use lyrics from a song  & Artist (example – “Billy Jean is not my Lover…Micheal Jackson) and maybe the item is hidden near a pair of jeans. Hint MUST be relevant. Don’t use a portion of lyrics that has nothing to do with hidden location.

MHH REFLECTION: moving forward

So, the Mending Hearts Hunt has come to an end! As I look back on the way I organized & executed, I have learned ways to better myself. I have grown substantially from my first hunt and still I am seeking ways to improve. Participator critiques will play a large hand in how I move forward.

While I will NEVER execute all my hunts the same way,  there are certain techniques that I will implement from now on. Few things I learned…

TIMING:  A big key to organization. Define a timeline that allows for incidentals so fluidity of events is not threatened

FLEXIBILITY: Plan but be ready to re-plan, things do not always go as intended. ie the MH hunt, I was hoping for collaborations, yes there was an option to submit an application as a single vendor, but my concept was more grand. It didn’t work out that way and canceling was not an option so I worked with what I had.

ACCESSIBILITY: The way I executed the business of landmark listing for the stores, where one store didn’t lead to the next has left some stores feeling over shadowed, so in the future I will work towards a more inclusive system. But note when I do promotions for a hunt, blogs, magazines, facebook etc…I never put one store over the other, I try to represent the lot. I don’t do favorites. In the future, I will develop a system that will be less..random but I can not control a hunter’s preference for certain items. A person will seek out those items of top interest.

lastly…

RESPONSIBILITY: Placing it where it belongs & knowing when to let go. As organizer, I am responsible for a number of things setting a plan of attack, informing people of timeline/deadlines, getting essentials to participators in a timely fashion, responding to concerns etc…

but it is NOT my job to be the sole promoter of a business. Each participator is responsible for promoting his/her own store in addition to what I do for the the hunt itself. It is not my job to baby-sit anyone about what he/she needs to do  to pass inspection ie sign placement, making sure hunt icon is configured correctly etc.. While I am willing to help, I can not…will not over extend myself. We are all grown :)

These are the 4 major lessons I learned. In the future when I can take someone on as co-planner (actively seeking) hopefully things on my end will be smoother so that I can provide an easier and more efficient system.

MENDING HEARTS HUNT UPDATES

- Each store owner is encouraged to create an AD, for posting on various social media forums. If you need help creating an AD please IM me inworld for assistance. Your AD should SELL your store, your products, talent etc. Images are to be 1:1 ratio & no smaller than 500×500 pixels.  Once posted, additional information about your store ex SLurl can be added.  See EXAMPLE

- Sign placement in store is a MUST! It helps promote the hunt. And a successful hunt is what we all want, so do your part to aid in Be Hunted reaching more participants. (New sign (2 prim) will be sent via group shortly)

- This time around, I ask that all participants hide their item & provide a hint to its location. Be creative, have fun.

- Once again I will post on the blog & now Flickr images of hunt items. I ask that all images be a 1:1 ratio and no smaller than 400 x400. If you need help creating an image for your item, please contact me.

- I ask that all participants be diligent in sticking with the above time line. Making this hunt a success will take effort on both of our parts. I am using different avenues to hopefully reach a larger audience, I ask that you all do the same. Promote your store! Be active.

GROUP MESSAGES
Each store owner should be able to send out messages in the Be Hunted Group. If anyone does not have this capability, please contact me. Each owner can send out 1 message a week & make 1 facebook post a week about things relating to store; sales, new items, MM board etc. This allowance is NOT just during hunt events but any time. Utilize this opportunity.

- BE ACTIVE!

- Take advantage of free press/promotion opportunities

- Talk with other BH store owners,trade signs & LMs help promote each other

- Place ADs. Don’t have much monies place a classified for $50L a week, it helps

- Get involved with social media

- Offer quality free item

- Not a blogger, look into blogger groups to have items reviewed

(Most do it in exchange for a free item to review)

- Lastly & most important, help a small or struggling store owner, may not do anything for you financially but damn if it doesn’t do wonders for the human spirit
